Seamless stainless steel pipe: hot rolled/cold drawn process, no weld, used in high pressure and high temperature environment (such as boiler tube).
Welded stainless steel pipes: high frequency welding (ERW), argon arc welding (TIG), plasma welding (PAW), low cost, suitable for low pressure scenarios.
Seamless pipe:Round billet → heating → perforating → hot rolling/cold drawing → heat treatment (solid solution) → straightening → cutting → detection.
Welded Pipe:Steel strip slitting → forming → welding (TIG/ERW)→ weld treatment (polishing/pickling) → sizing → inspection.Characteristics Description Corrosion resistance Chromium forms a dense oxide film (passivation layer) and resists acid, alkali and salt corrosion (316L is excellent in seawater corrosion resistance). High temperature resistance Austenitic stainless steel temperature up to 800 ℃ (short-term), suitable for boilers, heat exchangers. Hygienic Smooth surface without pores, not easy to breed bacteria, in line with food/medical industry health standards. Strength The tensile strength of duplex stainless steel can reach 620~930 MPa, which is 2~3 times that of carbon steel pipe.
